Who Needs It?

• Anyone traveling the Pamir Highway or visiting the GBAO region.

Practical Details

Requirements

• Passport scan (for advance/online applications).

• Exact travel dates.

• Payment online (for digital service) or in local currency at OVIR.

• A separate permit is needed for Lake Sarez and Zorkul (only if you wish to visit these restricted areas).

How to Obtain the GBAO Permit

Three Main Ways:

1. Online with e-Visa Application:
Select the “GBAO Permit” option when you apply for your Tajikistan e-visa. Cost is typically $20 extra and the permit will be attached to your e-visa. You're ready before you arrive.

2. At OVIR Offices in Tajikistan:
Apply in person with your passport at the OVIR (Migration Police) offices in Dushanbe, Khujand, Penjakent.

3. Through us (RECOMMENDED):
