These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings and services provided by Borderless Expeditions Limited.
1. Legal information

- Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong.
2. Booking and payment
2.1 Booking confirmation
Your booking is confirmed once we receive full payment, unless we've agreed to something different during the booking process.
2.2 Payment terms
- Full payment is due at the time of booking unless we've explicitly agreed otherwise.
- Accepted payment methods are listed on our payment page.
- Spots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
2.3 Travel insurance
Travel insurance is not included unless stated in the trip description or purchased as an add-on. We strongly recommend getting your own coverage for health, accidents, cancellations, and repatriation. See our insurance recommendations →
3. Cancellation policy
To cancel, send us a written notice at contact@borderlessexpeditions.com. The cancellation date is the date we receive your email.
- More than 60 days before departure: 15% of the total trip cost.
- 60–30 days before departure: 30% of the total trip cost.
- 29–15 days before departure: 60% of the total trip cost.
- 14 days or less before departure: 100% of the total trip cost.
Booking transfers
You can transfer your booking to someone else up to 14 days before departure at no extra charge. Just send us written notice.
4. Customer responsibilities
4.1 Travel documents
You're responsible for having a valid passport, visas, and any other documents required for your destination.
4.2 Health requirements
You must meet all health requirements for your destination, including any vaccinations or medical precautions.
4.3 Failure to meet requirements
If you can't meet travel document or health requirements, you may be denied participation without a refund.
5. Liability
- Borderless Expeditions Limited is not liable for delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters, political unrest, or other circumstances beyond our control.
- We are not responsible for incidents or accidents during activities. That's what travel insurance is for.
- You are responsible for your personal belongings throughout the trip.
6. Complaints and disputes
6.1 Submitting complaints
If something went wrong, email us at contact@borderlessexpeditions.com within seven (7) days of your trip ending. We'll do our best to sort it out fairly.
6.2 Dispute resolution
If we can't reach an agreement, disputes will go to mediation in Hong Kong (e.g., Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre).
7. Privacy policy
We collect personal data to process bookings and deliver our services, as explained in our Privacy Policy. For questions about your data or deletion requests, reach us at contact@borderlessexpeditions.com.
8. Financial protection
Borderless Expeditions guarantees reimbursement for eligible cancellations as outlined in our cancellation policy above. No external financial institution or insurance provider is involved in this guarantee.
9. Insurance recommendations
Borderless Expeditions Limited is not an insurance company and does not sell, underwrite, or administer any insurance product. We are not a licensed insurance broker or intermediary in any jurisdiction.
On some pages of our website, we recommend third-party travel insurance providers (currently SafetyWing and IATI Seguros) because our experience is that these are among the few providers that genuinely cover remote destinations, high altitudes, and multi-country adventure routes. These recommendations reflect our honest assessment from years of operating in those regions.
Affiliate disclosure
In the case of SafetyWing, we participate in their ambassador referral programme. If you purchase a policy through our referral link, we may receive a small commission. You pay SafetyWing’s standard listed price. Our referral code does not affect the cost to you in any way. We do not have any commercial or affiliate arrangement with IATI Seguros.
Your responsibility
Before purchasing any insurance, you are solely responsible for reading the full policy terms, verifying that coverage applies to your specific destinations and activities, and ensuring the policy meets your personal needs. Borderless Expeditions accepts no liability for any inadequacy, exclusion, or limitation in third-party insurance coverage.
10. Additional information
We work with trusted local partners for accommodations and on-the-ground experiences. We don't currently have formal partnerships with external organizations.
